Due to the gray nature of all material that is not explicitly sanctioned trade friendly, the changing of the times, and the growth of Lossless Legs, the administrators of Lossless Legs are taking steps to be proactive and respect the wishes of artists and venues that have directly asked, or publicly stated that they do not wish their material, or events recorded from their location to be shared via bit torrent.

We do feel it is in the best interest not only of Lossless Legs, but the future of bit torrent in general to respect the artists/venues wishes. They are after all what it's all about.

The following list is based on the NAB/NAV list currently enforced at Dime A Dozen. We have added a few bands at our discretion that are "high risk" bands. This list has been voted on, and is a start for us taking a step in making bit torrent more artist friendly and keeping Lossless Legs safe and around for a long time.

As we as a team do more research, more bands/artists/venues may be added at our discretion. We realize that for a few fans, this news isn't going to be well received, but understand it is for the good of the community, and it is not up for debate.

If you know, or can provide written documentation from a band/venue that will make them ineligible for this list, please contact one of the administrators of the site to pass the information along and we will make a judgment call as a team.

If you are aware of other bands that have explicitly asked to not be traded via bit torrent, please also contact one of us with this information so we can discuss, and amend our policy.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. In the end, we are just trying to take steps forward to keep us all safe, and the artists/venues happy.

Lossless Legs is committed to protecting the copyrights of artists that do not allow the trading of their performances in digital format. A decision has been made to articulate  that ongoing commitment by publishing a formal and proactive policy that categorically defines acceptable use of the Lossless Legs tracker. That policy is as follows:
1)  Artists and works unacceptable for trade on the Lossless Legs tracker are identified in an inclusive and dynamic list of Not Allowed Bands (NAB) located here http://xxxxx. Performances by artists identified on the NAB list shall not be torrented at Lossless Legs.
2) Seeding of works by these artists will constitute a violation of NAB Policy and seeds in violation will be immediately deleted and sanctions applied to offending uploaders of NAB material uo to and including the loss of uploader (ALA) status.
3) Should a torrent file of a performance protected by copyright be uploaded to the tracker, Lossless Legs shall expeditiously delete the torrent file of the copyrighted performance and add the artist or performance, as applicable, to the NAB list. As it is our desire to comply with artists' rights and desires regarding the circulation of their copyrighted materials, users and copyright holders are encouraged to report concerns of possible infringements and additions to the NAB list. A mechanism for reporting copyright concerns is provided at ( phempa AT gmail DOT com ) per Sections [512(c)(3)(iii)] and [512(d)(3)] of the Digital Millenium Coyright Act (DMCA).
